The incident occurred shortly after the acclaimed singer took the stage, when an overwhelming surge of excitement among the audience caused a large section of the crowd to push forward. In the rush, two people reportedly fainted, while one person sustained minor injuries. Owing to the sudden commotion, the organisers paused the concert temporarily. Shreya Ghoshal reportedly waited on stage while the police and security officials worked swiftly to bring the situation under control. Only after authorities confirmed that crowd movement had stabilised did the singer resume her performance.According to PTI, medical teams present at the venue immediately attended to the two individuals who had fainted—one of whom was a woman. They were first treated at the on-site first-aid centre and later taken to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for further care. Deb Datta Singh denied any claims of a major disturbance. He stated, “There was no unpleasant situation. It is true that there was a huge crowd, but we managed it properly. One person sustained a minor injury and is stable.”As of now, Shreya Ghoshal has not publicly commented on the incident.Earlier in the day, before arriving at the venue, the singer had interacted with fans on X (formerly Twitter), sharing her excitement about performing in Cuttack. “On my way to Cuttack for a show today but also excited about what’s coming in two days. Let’s kill some time until soundcheck. AMA?” she posted.During the session, a fan asked if she had tried Odia cuisine and recommended the famous dahibara aludum. Shreya warmly responded, “Can’t wait to taste today. I have eaten Odia food in the past and loved it!
