It also invited objections from the residents likely to be affected by the proposed exclusion and inclusion of local areas. Both the orders were issued by the Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Department.In one order, the Urban Development Department has proposed the exclusion of 600 local areas — spanning 51 hectares — from the jurisdiction of the Municipal Council in Nadaun, Hamirpur. The areas proposed to be excluded fall under Patwar Circle, primarily covering Mohal Bela and Bela (Indira Colony). The notification lists more than 490 khasra (plot) numbers for Mohal Bela and over 100 khasra numbers for Bela (Indira Colony), marking a substantial re-demarcation of municipal limits.“Any inhabitant who may be affected by the exclusion may file objections in writing to the Principal Secretary (Urban Development) through the Deputy Commissioner, Hamirpur, within two weeks from the date of publication. Objections received after the deadline will not be entertained,” the Urban Development Department stated, in the order.Sources said that the move is expected to impact revenue, service delivery and municipal planning in the Nadaun region. Nadaun Municipal Council is in Nadaun assembly segment represented by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.Also, the department has proposed to include new areas within the Municipal Corporation, Una under powers granted by Section 3(3) of the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994. The area identified for inclusion falls under Patwar Circle Bharolian Kalan, comprising part of Mohal Tabba in Tabba panchayat. The notification specifies 30 khasra numbers to be brought under the corporation limits.Residents of the affected area may submit written objections to the Principal Secretary (Urban Development) through the Deputy Commissioner, Una, within two weeks from publication in the Rajpatra.
