Veteran's Day is for those who served and are still here. Memorial Day is for those who served and aren't. I know, people confuse the two, but you shouldn't. They're different and with good reason.Let's honor veterans today. They deserve it; they risked all, every one of them -- whether they were ultimately called to serve in the sand or somewhere else -- or not at all. The risk of being sent to fight was and is always there.The shutdown filibuster was broken overnight Sunday when the Senate GOP put together an offer the Democrats could not refuse -- well, enough of them anyway.
