(Source: FB)On the verge of reshuffling his Cabinet, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Tuesday that he was awaiting a nod from the Congress high command for the move and had sought an appointment with party leader Rahul Gandhi over the issue.Responding to media queries about his visit to New Delhi amid talks of a reshuffle, he said he would be in the Capital on November 15 to attend an event organised by former Union Minister Kapil Sibal.“I have sought time from Rahul Gandhi. If he gives time, I will go and talk to him,” he said at a news conference held in Mysuru.However, he expressed his doubts about talks of a Cabinet shuffle concluding during his November 15 visit, saying, “Most likely, if I don’t get time from the high command, I will return on the same date.”Apart from statements by various ministers and Congress leaders, Siddaramaiah himself has indicated that a reshuffle was on the horizon. Two Cabinet berths are currently vacant due to the resignation of ministers K N Rajanna and B Nagendra.According to Congress sources, talks on the reshuffle are likely to be held after the Bihar Assembly election results on November 14. Recently, Agriculture Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy had said that a decision on the reshuffle was likely by the end of November.Responding to a question on the Delhi blast, Siddaramaiah said the Centre should give reasons for the attack. “Let the Centre investigate,” he said, adding that the loss of innocent lives during the Red Fort blast was saddening.Story continues below this adOn whether the Delhi blast would have an impact on the Bihar Assembly elections, Siddaramaiah said it would have an adverse effect on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).The Karnataka chief minister said a meeting will be held with Forest, Ecology and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre in the coming week to discuss measures to prevent man-animal conflicts in districts surrounding Mysuru.Siddaramaiah said he was dissatisfied with the official response from the Forest Department, which claimed that an increase in tiger and elephant numbers was contributing to the conflict in the state.
