Christian Axiak, a 21-year-old from Xewkija, Gozo, has made history as the first member of his family to graduate from university while continuing to work as a fisherman.Axiak will be among the 1,718 students graduating from the University of Malta this month, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science and Physical Education.Balancing work and studies was no easy feat. Christian would rise early to go fishing before heading to lectures and dedicating himself to his academic pursuits. Despite his demanding schedule, he remained committed to achieving his goal.
