Auston Trusty’s return to Celtic’s backline has led to the American defender getting back to his best. Trusty delivered three appearances over the past week, helping Martin O’Neill’s squad earn two victory over that span. The U.S. men’s national team centerback earned SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week honors for his impactful week. Trusty’s week started with the American defender logging 120 minutes in a 3-1 extra time Scottish League Cup semifinal win over rivals Rangers. He was credited with an assist on Celtic’s go-ahead goal in extra time before helping the reigning SPFL winners hang on for advancement to December’s final. Trusty retained his spot for Thursday’s 3-1 Europa League loss to Midtjylland before also going the distance in Sunday’s 4-0 league victory over Kilmarnock. He completed a match-high 98 passes in that match, while also winning nine duels and making seven defensive clearances. Cameron Carter-Vickers’ Achilles’ injury has opened the door for Trusty to not only remain a long-term starter at club level, but also jump into the USMNT fold for 2026. The former Charlotte FC man powered home a first-half header to help pad the visitors’ advantage. With five goal contributions on the season, Agyemang has been one of the better performers for the club so far.Gianluca BusioIt was a good weekend for Gianluca Busio and Venezia.Busio’s first-half goal helped kickstart Venezia to a 3-1 home victory over Sampdoria in Serie B play. The former MLS homegrown has remained a consistent performer for Venezia this season, logging over 1,000 minutes in league play. Venezia sits fifth in the league table heading into the international break.Brenden AaronsonBrenden Aaronson was Leeds United’s best player on Sunday afternoon. Aaronson set up Lukas Nmecha for the Lilywhites’ lone goal in a 3-1 road loss to Nottingham Forest. The USMNT midfielder played 74 minutes in the match, drawing a match-high four fouls and winning eight duels.
