They made successful films like Aashiqui, Sadak, Murder, Raaz, among many others and established themselves as the banner that promised good music to the audience, and consistently delivered films that clicked with the masses. However, in 2021, the brothers had a falling out and Mahesh left the company. The relationship soured, and in a recent interview, Mukesh opened up about this separation impacted him. He also spoke about how he was hurt as he was not invited to his niece Alia Bhatt’s wedding with Ranbir Kapoor.Speaking to Lehren Retro, Mukesh said, “I will be a hypocrite if I say, I didn’t feel bad. Of course, I felt bad. I love Alia a lot and not just her, even Shaheen. So when she got married, I thought meri bachi ki shadi hai (my daughter is getting married). I was very much wanting to be there.” Mukesh also revealed that he hasn’t met Alia and Ranbir’s daughter, Raha, who turned three this year. “When I got to know that Alia is pregnant and then she had a baby, meri aankhein taras gayi Raha ko dekhne ke liye (My eyes yearn to see Raha). I love kids a lot,” he said.When asked if he tried to meet Alia after she welcomed Raha, Mukesh explained that he chose not to, as he didn’t want to put Alia in an uncomfortable position. “I didn’t even try because I didn’t want to put her in a position of discomfort. I didn’t want to put her in a position where she had to see how will her father feel if I come and meet her,” he said. He added that while he did not text his niece, he wished her well. Recalling a past conversation, he told Siddharth Kannan, “Bhatt sahab told me, ‘You get out of the company.’ I asked him what happened, and he said, ‘Saalo tak mere bhai (Mukesh Bhatt) ne mujhe exploit kiya hai. Main nahi chahta ki woh tujhe exploit kare (My brother has exploited me for years. I don’t want him to exploit you). You go and do something on your own.
