Written by Sakshi ChandNew Delhi | Updated: November 13, 2025 08:55 AM IST 1 min readA DNA test has confirmed Red Fort blast suspect as Dr Umar Un Nabi.Dr Umar Nabi Bhat drove the i20 car involved in the blast near Red Fort that claimed 13 lives and leftseveral injured on Monday evening.The Delhi Police on Wednesday issued an alert after uncovering that Umar, an assistant professor at Al-Falah University, owns another vehicle — a red Ford EcoSport — in addition to his Hyundai i20.Umar, a resident of Koil village in Pulwama, was employed at the School of Medical Sciences and Research Centre at Al Falah University in Dhauj, Faridabad.Samples of the DNA of Umar’s mother were matched with samples from the unidentified bodies that were brought to Lok Nayak Hospital from the site of the explosion.Investigators rely on DNA profiling to identify suspects or victims when bodies are physically unrecognisable.
