Earlier on Monday, the Senate had passed the spending bill paving way for reopening the government.In the Senate, Republicans needed at least 60 votes to get the bill going and make way for reopening the federal shutdown but their votes stood at 52. However, eight Democratic Senators pulled away from the party line and voted in favour of the GOP bill that would run the government until January.
