The makers of the film have unveiled the teaser along with Meryl and Anne’s first looks.The teaser begins with a visual of a woman walking in red stilettos through an office. As people rush to get out of her way, we soon realise that the woman in the video is none other than Meryl Streep, reprising her role as the formidable Runway magazine editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly, from the original 2006 film. While everyone hurriedly steps aside, a hand stops the elevator, where Miranda is standing alone. Enter her former assistant, Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, who joins her just in time. This prompts Miranda to say, “Took you long enough,” making Andy smirk and slip on her black sunglasses. Andy getting into the same elevator as Miranda also hints that the dynamic between them has evolved and they are now more like equals.A sequel? For spring? Groundbreaking. Watch the teaser trailer now.”Fans have been going gaga over the teaser and the sight of Anne and Meryl reuniting. A fan wrote, “No words for how excited I am to have these icons back!” Another fan observed, “The fact that Miranda actually moves to the side to give Andy more room is some major character development.”Another fan added, “The absence of Blunt from this teaser somehow makes me even more excited to see how she’ll be in this sequel.” Emily Blunt, who played Miranda’s other assistant in the original film, is also confirmed to be part of the sequel. Stanley Tucci is also returning to the film.The Devil Wears Prada 2 will revolve around Miranda’s career as she tries to navigate a world where print journalism is dying.
