Kay Adams was once the face of NFL Network’s hit show Good Morning Football, but she has since moved on to pursue other ventures.Adams left GMFB in 2022 to launch her own show, Up & Adams, on FanDuel TV.YOUTUBE/@UPANDADAMSSHOWAdams has gone on to have a successful career in the sports media industry[/caption]She recently appeared on an episode of Bussin’ With The Boys, speaking with Will Compton and Taylor Lewan about her departure from NFL Network, why she chose to leave when she did, and the influence and impact their show had across the league.“I loved Good Morning Football and being on in every important facility is invaluable,” Adams said. “You walk in and you have this three hours—it replayed for three hours—so six hours you’re on in the most important places.”Adams was part of Good Morning Football’s original cast, along with Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager and Nate Burleson, when the show launched in 2016. She looked back on her tenure with pride but acknowledged that, after more than six years, it was the right time to move on.“I felt so good about the work I did there,” Adams continued. “I knew that I didn’t want to stay, and had an offer to stay. But I was like, ‘Man, do I really want to do this for four more [years]? Is this the right time to leave?’ And I very much feel great about when I left.”The move appears to have paid off handsomely for the bubbling sports media star. After departing NFL Network in 2022, Adams teamed up with FanDuel TV to launch Up & Adams, a daily program blending NFL discourse, player interviews, and sports culture in a more casual format.Adams has interviewed nearly every big name in the world of sports, giving them a platform to share stories and insights they might not reveal elsewhere. She credited her confidence in the venture to FanDuel’s history of supporting creators and allowing them the freedom to craft their own content, most notably Pat McAfee at the time.“I had felt very good about sitting with FanDuel and what that could look like,” Adams said. “At that point, Pat [McAfee] was still with FanDuel. I loved what that looked like—the support FanDuel gave him and the creative freedom.”Looking back on her time with Good Morning Football, Adams praised the show for introducing a more genuine, unrefined approach to sports television. An approach that has now become standard across both digital and traditional platforms.X/@BUSSINWTBAdams has become a prominent voice in the world of sports[/caption]Adams’ profile and popularity have soared over the past decadeGettyGMFB was ahead of the curve.“We were really interested in breaking the fourth wall, which back then you didn’t really do,” she said. “Now it’s normalized in the content space.“But we were just so down from the beginning to say, ‘Oh snap, my mic fell off,’ or, ‘We got tripped up on this wire.’ We loved and embraced those moments.”Since the show’s inception, three of the original core four—Adams, Schrager, and Burleson—have moved on, leaving Brandt as the last remaining member.Schrager moved to ESPN earlier this year, while Burleson joined CBS a few years back now. These days, the Good Morning Football cast features Brandt, Jamie Erdahl, and Manti Te’o as the regulars, along with a rotating lineup of contributors and frequent guest appearances.Stay up to date with the latest from the NFL across all platforms – follow our dedicated talkSPORT USA Facebook page and subscribe to our talkSPORT USA YouTube channel for all the news, exclusives, interviews and more
