The list goes all the way back to models released in 2014, which means hundreds of new devices can now be serviced without the previous limits.Earlier, these phones required authenticated programmers. They’ve asked users to try the method on other models and report back along with a Work ID so they can confirm and add the device to the official supported list.Technical notes you should knowSome phones require you to keep the buttons pressed until the “Reconnect Battery” prompt appears to get a stable EDL connection.When an Oppo or OnePlus Qualcomm phone is plugged in, Chimera automatically tries to identify it. Holding both volume keys along with the power button usually helps it complete detection.In a few cases, the device enters something called OppoDL Mode. If that happens, you can manually reach Recovery Mode, choose your language, tap several times on “Version,” open the hidden menu, and then switch to Download (EDL) Mode.Rare models that ignore all button combinations may still need Test Points for a proper connection.There is also an AntiRollback detail: after updating firmware, the phone may stop entering EDL if the new version blocks the older programmer. This is expected behavior on some protection levels.Android 15 is also supported on several devices, including Oppo 11, Oppo Open, and N3. On OnePlus 13, the programmer works only after the second boot, so technicians should keep that in mind.General response from the marketChimera’s update this time is good, and it finally came with something users have been requesting for years. But many people feel it didn’t fully match the hype. With such a huge user base—around two million—the expectations are always high. Still, the update covers many real-world use cases, especially in markets where Oppo and OnePlus Qualcomm devices appear frequently.The team confirmed that the method works even on Android 15 with the latest 10-month protection patches on several newer devices, including OnePlus 12, 15, and 13T. Many units that previously required only expensive JTAG or server-based solutions are now working smoothly.Devices running the same processors as Oppo, Realme, and OnePlus also show support for protection levels up to 10 months. But some widely used models such as Oppo A3 4G, A3x 4G, A5, and A5 Pro 4G still don’t work on the month-10 patch. If those get supported soon, it will be a major breakthrough.A few devices remain unsupported, like Oppo A72 (SDM665). These gaps are expected, and updates are likely to arrive later.A small but important extraChimera is now one of the only tools, apart from AMT, that can flash the new Oppo/OnePlus firmware structure where the super partition is split into folders (metadata-style ROM). This helps a lot when dumping and writing official flash files on devices where the format is not directly supported.
