Brian Galea, the Maltese father who has become a symbol of resilience and dedication through his endurance challenges for his twin sons, Len and Jacob, has achieved another extraordinary milestone.During the team’s event on 5th October 2025, Brian set a brand-new national endurance record for the longest combined barefoot running and open-water swimming distance ever completed across Malta, Comino and Gozo.In total, he ran 32 kilometres and swam 4 kilometres, all completed barefoot, finishing the full route in 6 hours, 13 minutes and 34 seconds.His journey began in Mosta, from where he ran all the way to Marfa before swimming to Comino. After crossing the island on foot, he continued with a second swim to Ħondoq ir-Rummien in Gozo, then pushed through the final stretch, running all the way to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu in Għarb.Brian said he is “still overwhelmed” by the recognition and thanked everyone who continues to support him and his family.
