Certain traffic diversions are also in place. Hence commuters must expect traffic curbs in Delhi, especially around the Red Fort. A fresh traffic advisory was released by the Delhi Traffic Police on Tuesday morning advising commuters to take alternative routes to avoid hassles.What is Delhi Traffic Police’s fresh traffic diversion advisory?Traffic restrictions and diversions have been put in place on both carriageways and the service road of Netaji Subhash Marg, as per the police. The restrictions will be imposed on the stretch between Chhatta Rail Cut to Subhash Marg Cut. The area around Delhi’s Red Fort will be under heavy security due to the explosion (Image: Google Map).“Commuters are advised to avoid these routes from 6:00 AM [on Tuesday] until further notice and use alternative roads for a hassle-free journey. On that day, no vehicle will be allowed to move on Netaji Subhash Marg from Chhatta Rail Cut to Subhash Marg Cut, and vice-versa,” the Delhi Traffic Police said in an X post.Blast near Delhi Red FortAn explosion in a car, which killed at least 9 people, rocked Delhi on Monday evening. A preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle had been parked near the Red Fort area for over three hours before it was driven out.The blast occurred at 6:52 PM near Red Fort Metro Station.A case under sections 16, 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Explosives Act has been registered at Kotwali Police Station in north Delhi.The exact cause of the explosion is yet to be confirmed.
