According to Dr Saraf, vitamin C aids in collagen development, a chemical compound that keeps skin tight and elastic, and improves skin radiance by removing dullness and pigmentation. “Regular vitamin C use can enhance wound healing, thwart free radicals, and provide skin with a healthy glow,” said Dr Saraf.Is it safe for all?For the majority of individuals, a daily vitamin C supplement in recommended amounts is harmless. “It is particularly effective for individuals who do not consume enough fruits and vegetables in their diets. Individuals with sensitive skin who are unable to tolerate topical serums tend to find tablets to be a kind option. But those with kidney conditions or a history of kidney stones need to be careful and consult a practitioner before supplementing,” said Dr Saraf.
