MANY people stuck to those stories!! Someone online tried to say they were 4mos premature in the 50s....weighing 5+lbs. Another was 3mos premature in the 60s, also weighing in ~7lbs. Those kids would have made the NEWS back then!!! Not sure people realized that, it was a simpler time! I dont ever want to burst people's bubbles, but I am behind my screen with a chortle. Here's the thing, prematurity wasn't all that common back then, so maybe they could get others to believe, but I personally have a 26w that was HUGE at 3lbs7oz(2/14 within hours, he was swollen, emergencies all around)-would have been a 10pounder if term(&is linebacker now at 22-so not shocking). I had a 30weeker also 2lbs14oz, she went to 2/7(normal). A 34weeker at 4lbs15oz....the last 2 both came home at 3/13 & were 4/5 at first checkup...where the similarities end 🤣🤷♀️ Now it is more "normal" to have preemies, know someone else who has, etc. So selling a 10lb baby as a preemie has gotten increasingly difficult!!
