A kidnapping case was registered at the MRA Marg police station.Six months after a four-year-old girl was kidnapped from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), the MRA Marg police traced her to an orphanage in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi and reunited her with her parents.According to police, the girl’s parents had travelled from Solapur to Mumbai for her father’s treatment at St. George’s Hospital and were temporarily staying on the CSMT premises. On May 20 this year, an unidentified person allegedly abducted the child. A kidnapping case was registered at the MRA Marg police station.Investigation revealed that the accused had taken the girl from CSMT to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus by local train before boarding an express train to Varanasi. Four special police teams were formed, and over several months, officers scanned CCTV footage from major stations along the Mumbai–Varanasi route. Posters of the missing girl were also circulated widely in coordination with Varanasi police.Story continues below this adA few days ago, the Mumbai Police received a call from a Varanasi-based journalist who had seen the poster. The caller told the police about an orphanage in Varanasi, where there was a girl who only spoke Marathi and had been staying since June this year.The MRA Marg police subsequently visited the facility, verified the information and found that the girl at the orphanage was the same child who was abducted from CSMT this year.
