Kangana Ranaut, a three-time National Award-winning actor and filmmaker, is a Member of Parliament (MP) from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh under the Bhartiya Jana Party (BJP). Meanwhile, Chirag Paswan, the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, saw his party Lok Janshakti Party win 19 of the 29 seats it contested in the recent Bihar assembly elections.Directed by Tanveer Khan, Miley Naa Miley Hum revolved around Chirag’s character, also called Chirag, an aspiring tennis player who falls in love with Anishka (Kangana), a model, against his parents’ wishes. The movie also starred Kabir Bedi and Poonam Dhillon as his parents, along with Sagarika Ghatge, Neeru Bajwa, Dilip Tahil, and Suresh Menon.Miley Naa Miley Hum was a major flop at the box office. It didn’t collect even Rs 1 crore at the worldwide box office, concluding its extremely short box office run at Rs 97 lakh globally and Rs 77 lakh domestically. While Kangana Ranaut went on to headline several movies after the movie, Chirag Paswan decided to quit the film industry, leave Mumbai, and return to his home turf, Bihar.“I was working in Mumbai and I was pretty settled there. Had I given a few more years to Bollywood, I would have made a decent name for myself. The only reason I came to politics was that I had witnessed from close quarters how Biharis were treated in other parts of the country, how they were humiliated. The name Bihari itself was made into a gaali (cussword),” Chirag had told The Indian Express during his recent campaign.Son of late Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, who died at the age of 74 in 2020, Chirag Paswan joined his father’s political party Lok Janshakti Party. He became the party president in 2020 after his father’s demise and held the position for less than a year. He became an MP in 2014 from the constituency of Jamui, and is currently an MP from Hajipur. Now the president of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Chirag was appointed as the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries last year after the National Democratic Alliance, of which his party is a part along with the BJP, won the Lok Sabha Elections. After being doubted as a contender widely, including from the members of his own extended family, Chirag has finally proved his mettle in the recently held Bihar State Elections. Also Read — Kangana Ranaut responds to her viral photos with Chirag Paswan: ‘Now, he changes his path after seeing me…spare us in parliament’ Story continues below this adHis party won 19 of the 29 seats it contested in the assembly elections.
