The vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that the country is prepared to defend its sovereignty against the threat of US aggression and highlighted the role of an organized population as a guarantor of peace. On Wednesday, November 12, during the formation of a Bolivarian Integral Base Committee in La Pastora, Caracas, Vice President Rodríguez said that there is “a powerful popular union, which today translates into a people–police–military alliance for the comprehensive defense of the nation.” She stressed that despite being “threatened for more than two months,” the Venezuelan people continue on their path “in assemblies, in work, in entrepreneurship, carrying on production and educating themselves.”#ENVIVO | ”Tenemos 2 siglos de independencia, acumulando fuerza y amor por nuestra patria. El #PSUV saldrá más fortalecido como ha salido siempre, así como ha sido en todas las coyunturas” expresó la vicepresidenta de Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez pic.twitter.com/wwg56yeCC6— teleSUR TV (@teleSURtv) November 12, 2025In this vein, Rodríguez referred to the Law of the Command for the Comprehensive Defense of the Nation, approved by the National Assembly and enacted by President Nicolás Maduro, as a tool to organize the people. Its objective, she explained, is to consolidate an “impenetrable” defense of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and self-determination.In this regard, she said that the nation is now in the phase of “unarmed struggle, but if it comes to armed struggle, we are prepared.” She added that the United States “decided to declare war on the entire planet,” and therefore, Venezuela must be ready. “Who is going to come here from another country and give us orders? No one. The only one who orders is the Venezuelan people, who are well organized.”The vice president referred to the fact that in 2019, the far right created a “fictitious self-proclaimed president” as part of a plan to steal the country’s resources. “That is what they want now too: to steal our oil, gas, gold, metals, and natural resources and hand them over to their masters,” she explained.“Those who want to hand over Venezuela’s natural resources to fascism will be dealt by the unbreakable fist of the organized people. They will not be able to get away with it,” she declared. As part of the restructuring of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), she highlighted the importance of the Comprehensive Bolivarian Base Committees, reporting that over 145,000 assemblies were held this past weekend alone, with more than three million people participating to elect them. She explained that these meetings are aimed at defining the party’s “new territorial and local structure,” thereby consolidating a collective leadership for the country’s comprehensive defense.Venezuela: President Maduro Enacts Law for Integral Defense of the NationShe also noted that the PSUV must reflect the project of “the liberator,” Simón Bolívar, as well as the national identity of the Venezuelan people, created over two centuries of independence. “We have two centuries of independence, accumulating strength and love for our homeland,” she said. “The PSUV will emerge stronger, as it always has.”Finally, Rodríguez called on the party’s rank and file to move forward in building and strengthening this new organizational phase so that Venezuela continues to be a country that “defends itself, advances, and guarantees its future for its children and grandchildren.”On Wednesday, Rodríguez and the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, led the formation of the Bolivarian Integral Base Committee (CBBI) in the La Pastora parish, highlighting popular organization as the central pillar for the defense of the nation.Mayor Carmen Meléndez spoke about the people’s organization to address the needs of their communities. She explained the work being carried out jointly by the mayor’s office and the Ministry of Public Works, adding that “La Pastora is becoming more beautiful every day.”Meléndez specified that 82 people participated in the assembly to form the local committee as part of a restructuring process for comprehensive defense. She further said that in Caracas, there are 2,652 communities that, through these committees, will continue working for the benefit of the people and the defense of the homeland.  (Telesur)Translation: Orinoco TribuneOT/SC/SL
