By: Express Web DeskNew Delhi | Updated: November 10, 2025 09:30 PM IST 2 min readDelhi Red Fort bomb blast 2025: Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha has detailed what happened at the site of the Red Fort blast in Delhi where at least eight people lost their lives with several others taken injured.Golcha said that a slow-moving vehicle stopped at the red light near the Gate No.1 of Red Fort Metro Station following which an explosion took place at 6.52 pm. Two to three people were seated inside the car, he told mediapersons.“The explosion affected surrounding vehicles. As soon as we were informed, we notified all agencies concerned — Delhi Police, FSL, NIA and NSG. Their teams have arrived and are monitoring the situation. The Home Minister has also called us, and information is being shared with him from time to time,” he added.High alert in DelhiA high alert has been sounded in Delhi following the incident. The blast reportedly took place outside the Lal Quila (Red Fort) metro station in a car on Monday evening. The exact cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained.A team of Delhi Police Special Cell Officers has arrived at the site and the area has been cordoned off.
