In Paris, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola held high-level talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where the two discussed their shared goal of building a stronger, more efficient and safer Europe that delivers real results for its citizens.During her visit, President Metsola also paid tribute to the victims of the 2015 Paris attacks. In a moving ceremony alongside President Macron and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, she took part in the inauguration of a new memorial garden dedicated to those who lost their lives. “Ten years later, we remember the lives lost, as well as the courage and hope that carried Paris, France and all of Europe through the darkness,” Metsola said.She also met France’s Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and Senate President Gérard Larcher. In discussions with business leaders, startups and AI companies, Metsola highlighted the European Parliament’s push to simplify legislation, boost competitiveness and ensure Europe stays at the forefront of global innovation, especially in the field of AI.“We will continue to build a Europe that works for families and businesses,” she said.•
