Announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live, developer Undercoders is making a Tony Hawk-inspired game set in a futuristic and dystopian Japan that's titled Denshattack. However, instead of kick-flipping and rail-grinding on a skateboard, Denshattack has you pull off impressive tricks on a train."Creating the world of Denshattack has been a joy for the team," game director David Jaumandreu said in a press release. "Inspired by the art, culture, and music of Japan, and, of course, our love of trains and skateboarding, Denshattack is a project we've wanted to make for a long time, and we can't wait for the world to experience what we've been building."Where we're going, we don't need roads. As seen in the reveal trailer, Denshattack features all of the trademark gameplay you'd come to expect from a title like Tony Hawk, with a splash of the 3D Sonic games thanks to lead composer Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, Sonic Frontiers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge). As a rebellious teenager part of a movement to reclaim the abandoned railways of Japan, you'll drift on walls, pull off death-defying flips, hop on and off rails, and smash through other train conductors as you vie for territory among the gangs and challenge a megacorporation that keeps most of the population docile. You'll face off against several colorful characters across 50+ levels.Denshattack is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in early 2026. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
