New manager Andrée Jeglertz has been a busy chap as he prepares for his first season as manager of Manchester City Women. The Swede took over from interim boss Nick Cushing, who was drafted in after Gareth Taylor was relieved of his position in March. And the former Denmark boss has wasted no time in identifying the names that he thinks will take the Blues to the next level, with five new signings made so far this summer. Here’s the lowdown on how has joined and left the Blues ahead of the 25/26 season.Jade RoseCanadian centre-back Rose was the first to join the Blues this summer, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract from 1st July. The 22-year-old is primarily a centre-back but can also fill in at full-back if needed. With Rebecca Knaak suffering an injury during the Euros, Rose’s experience will become vital as City look to shore up a defence that shipped far too many goals last season.Iman BeneyStriker Iman Beney was next to arrive at the Joie Stadium, signing a few days after Rose. Beney is a highly-rated Swiss striker, who score nine goals in 22 appearances for YB Frauen. Her goals helped the club to their first Swiss title since 2011 and has so far received 10 caps for Switzerland. The 18-year-old is likely to play a bit part in the beginning, but her four-year contract will give her time to understand her role at the Joie Stadium and flourish under the new boss.Sydney LohmannGerman midfielder Lohmann arrived to fill the spot left by the departing Jill Roord. Signed from Bayern Munich, Lohmann will bring a wealth of experience gained in the  Frauen-Bundesliga, where she spent nine years with Bayern. Lohmann forced her way up from the youth team to the first team, then made it to the German national team in 2018.The 25-year-old signed a three-year contract at the club, ending her association with Bayern, but expressed her delight at signing for the Blues. “I can’t imagine a better time than now. This country is crazy about football, and in Manchester, there is a different vibe. When you speak about football, it doesn’t matter if it is women’s or men’s, they are so excited about it.”Eartha CumingsScottish international keeper Eartha Cumings returns to the WSL, becoming the fifth keeper on City’s books. Cumings signed a three-year contract in August and will compete against Ayaka Yamashita, Khiara Keating, Katie Startup and Eve Annets for a place between the sticks.Cumings was previously with Bristol City, Charlton Athletic and Liverpool, before a loan spell at Everton, then made a permanent move to Swedish side Rosengard. Laura WienrotherAustrian defender Wienrother has become City’s fifth signing of the summer, joining from Arsenal on a two-year contract. Wienrother spent part of 2025 on loan at the Joie Stadium, making five appearances, but has now made the move permanent. Wienrother is a right-back, meaning no more midfielders will need to cover that role, and spent three years at Arsenal, making 20 appearances for the Gunners. The Austrian international spent much of her early career in Austria, before moving to TSG Hoffenheim in 2018, spending four years in Germany before moving to North London.Who Has Left? The Blues have lost three key players over the summer and it remains to be seen how their absences will affect the team.Laia AleixandriSpanish international Aleixandri spent three years at the Joie Stadium and made a big impression in the heart of City’s defence. She joined Barcelona when her contract expired in May.Jill RoordDutch star Roord was an inspired signing for the 2023/24 season and, at £300,000, became the record club signing. Roord was incredible in her first season until an ACL injury prematurely ended her season. Roord returned during the 24/25 season, scoring 14 goals and recording six assists in 47 appearances in sky blue.Chloe KellyCity’s England hero Kelly was shunted out of the team last season by former manager Gareth Taylor, who later loaned the star to Arsenal in a less-than-amorous fashion. Kelly made the move back to North London permanent in June, before once again becoming England’s hero as they retained the Euros trophy.
