India and China have agreed to support one another in hosting the BRICS Summits of 2026 and 2027, signalling a thaw in ties strained since the 2020 Galwan clashes. The announcement followed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s two-day visit to New Delhi, where he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. Talks covered border stability, terrorism, trade, and regional issues.
