Over our 15-year history, we’ve supported countless creatives as they’ve built their careers. We sat down with three artists, Christy Powers, Nadia Attura, and Bollee Patino, who have been part of the Saatchi Art community for over a decade, to hear their stories. In candid artist interviews, they share how their partnership with the gallery began, the moments that have shaped their artistic journeys, and their most cherished memories with collectors and curators.Listen in for a glimpse into the artist-gallery relationship. How did you join Saatchi Art?https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ChristyPowers_Joincopy.m4aChristy Powers“I joined Saatchi Art in 2014. . .I had heard a lot about it when I was in grad school. . .I didn’t have a website [and] it was all birth of Instagram time too, so there wasn’t as much of a presence online for artists, so I was excited by the opportunity to have a place that was a platform just for artists to share their work.”https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/NadiaAttura_Joincopy.m4aNadia Attura“I think I joined in 2015, just when I decided to stop being a. . .press photographer and take my own practice more seriously, I think it was a friend that suggested that I join. . . .I thought, ‘Oh, it’s too soon for me to show my work. I shouldn’t be showing.’ I was too hesitant. I put the work on the Saatchi Art gallery and literally within a week or two something was sold. . .I thought, ‘Well this amazing.'”How has Saatchi Art helped shape your career as an artist?https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/NadiaAttura_CareerShapecopy.m4aNadia Attura“I’ve been in conversation with several of the curators who’ve helped me in the past with art shows and with what direction to take my work, especially when I was bringing my work over to the [United] States. . .They’ve got such extensive knowledge of worldwide collectors, but I think specifically for the [United] States.” https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Bolle-Gallery-Shaped-copy.m4aBollee Patino“Saatchi Art has really helped shape my path globally. I think that was the approach that I wanted to take, which is how do I go from being a local artist to more of an international artist, and they’ve really helped me expand from that aspect.” What makes Saatchi Art stand out from other galleries you’ve worked with?https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/NadiaAttura_differencecopy.m4aNadia Attura“What makes Saatchi Art stand out from other galleries. . .is their reach. They have an extensive client base, an extensive art base with artists working with artists, and so they’re very used to all the sort of nuances that we have as artists, so they’re able to support us in an extensive way.”https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ChristyPowers_SADifference.m4aChristy Powers“Saatchi [Art] is different because I think they just have one of the largest platforms online where people go to look for art. I love the transparency of it because I think so many people get really intimidated by the art market, not knowing what prices are, and not being able to get any information. And I just feel like people feel so grateful that they’re able to work with curators to pull together collections and be able to see so many different, wide varieties of artwork.”What’s your most memorable experience with a collector, curator, or the gallery?https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/NewRecording92.m4aBollee Patino“One of my favorite memories of working with Saatchi Art is a project that I was given through Rebecca Wilson. It was a live installation in downtown Chelsea. It was a five-day project. She was there the entire time and kind of helped me work the installation and gave me tips and advice. And I think that was really a great memory for me, just to. . .do a live installation in downtown New York and just have actual curators and staff members on site to kind of help guide me through the process.” https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ChristyPowers_Memorycopy.m4aChristy Powers“I love just being able to connect with collectors online and then also doing the [The Other Art Fair]. I have people who have come up to me at fairs and been like, ‘Oh my God, I am one of your biggest followers. I like everything you post on Saatchi [Art]. And it’s like, I feel like I’m meeting a rock star, meeting you in person.’ And it’s always like, ‘What? You follow my work?'”What’s next for you, and how do you see the gallery being part of it?https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/NadiaAttura_whatsnextcopy.m4aNadia Auttra“I am involved in a project at the moment so I’m looking forward to seeing that through. It’s a commission with a hotel so that’s another exciting avenue. . . .I feel very comfortable with [Saatchi Art], so I’m happy to be led by them and. . .I’m excited to see what happens in the next 15 years.”What would you tell aspiring artists thinking of joining Saatchi Art?https://canvas.saatchiart.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/BolleePatino-AdviceforArtists.m4aBollee Patino“Just do it. I think the one thing you have to keep in mind is it’s a tool and a resource. It’s not a scenario where you can upload something and kind of wait. You really have to use the curator support, the online portal, [and] make it part of your everyday process. [It] is how you really make Saatchi Art work for you and how you can expand your horizons.” Continue celebrating 15 years of Saatchi Art by taking a closer look at the artists who have shaped our path. The post Behind 15 Years of Saatchi Art: Artist Interviews appeared first on Canvas: A Blog By Saatchi Art.
