Premier League teams are aware of Al-Hilal forward Aleksandar Mitrovic’s potential availability as a free agent.Mitrovic has been told he does not feature in the plans of new head coach Simone Inzaghi. Journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed it is a scenario that could evolve, with Championship promotion hopefuls Birmingham City among those rivalling Premier League interest.Speaking the Market Madness podcast, Jacobs said: “As with Demarai Gray, who joined Birmingham City, where Al-Ettifaq said ‘We’re going to allow you to terminate your contract now, we are going to agree a pay-off’.“Then the player becomes a free transfer and Mitrovic on a free transfer would just have to take the wage on offer from the league where he wants to play, and his existing Saudi wage would not be factored in.“The good news as well is that Mitrovic has been there long enough that he won’t pay tax on what he’s earned so far. So if he does agree to leave now and terminate on a free transfer, he won’t have to pay any tax, as was the case with Jordan Henderson.
