Through community-based Qurbani, Islamic Relief Philippines provides meat packs to about 40,000 individualsIslamic Relief Philippines distributed two (2) kilos of meat packs from 216 Shari’ah-compliant cows to 7,800 vulnerable households living in poverty or 40,000 individuals in the municipalities of Sultan Kudarat and Lambayong. This initiative, held in the spirit of Eid al-Adha, aims to fulfil the obligations of Qurbani with vulnerable families and those in need by providing meat to them. In close collaboration with the Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs), Islamic Relief Philippines, reached 12 barangays in Sultan Kudarat and nine (9) barangays in Lambayong. through house-to-house Wellbeing Analysis (WBA) and profiling. To ensure adherence to Islamic principles and maintain a Shariah-compliant process, Islamic Relief Philippines closely collaborated with the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’, which provided religious guidance and orientation to the ustadz who led the slaughtering process. Through the community-based approach, community traditions were reinforced and celebrated, while espousing the spirit of giving and charity embodied in the Feast of Sacrifice—upholding religious values and fostering community participation. #
