If all of the rumors and reports are true, Apple's first foldable iPhone might be coming sooner rather than later. The company hasn't made any indications about its launch yet but the market is convinced we'll see the device in the coming months. A new analyst prediction suggests that Apple intends to position its first foldable iPhone squarely against the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in more ways than one, including pricing. It may cost the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7In a note to clients, JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee has reiterated the expectation that Apple will release the foldable iPhone in September this year. The note adds that this device will have a book-style form factor “similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series.”It was previously expected that the device would cost more than $2000, likely in the $2,100 – $2,200 range. The analyst claims Apple will price the device at $1,999, which is exactly the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7's starting price. Perhaps Apple has taken a cautious approach to pricing the first iteration of the foldable iPhone, as it has to prove itself against a very well established competitor in the Galaxy Z Fold series, which is now in its seventh generation. If the market response isn't as well as it hopes, a higher price tag compared to the device that's its only natural rival, will only compound the negative sentiment.
