We panicked a bit!“There was a big bang when one of the engines failed. The pilot said straight away that he needed to bring it down so we turned round and flew back to Bagby.“He brought the plane down but as we were coming down there was another bang. Something had flown off the engine and hit the side of the plane.“The pilot was great. He kept his cool but we knew we were in a bit of bother.”Each race at Goodwood Racecourse is live on talkSPORT.Giving more detail on the incident, talkSPORT’s racing correspondent Rupert Bell said: “There were five jockeys flying down from Thirsk to Goodwood.“They took off and then on the twin engine plane one of the engines conked out straight away.Jockey Callum Rodriguez was among those on the aborted flightGetty“One of the pilots said ‘we have to go’ and on the way back, I’m quoting one of the jockeys, he said ‘bits were flying off the plane’.“So it sounded like quite a scary moment.“Thankfully they landed safely, but given the fact that Thirsk is 286 miles away they won’t be riding in this race.”
