Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) leaders on Thursday staged a protest at Dharna Chowk demanding an immediate release of notification to fill 2,260 Special Education Teacher posts in the State.Speaking at the protest, the federation’s State secretary G. Ramanna said that a GO (No. 13) was issued on April 15, 2025 on recruitment of special teachers to fill 2,260 vacant posts in the State. There are around 86,000 children with special needs who are in need of the services of these teachers, he said.He said that people, who had qualified in the Special B. Ed and D. Ed courses, had been waiting for recruitment for over 20 years in the absence of notification. The government should relax age limit in view of the gap in release of notifications for taking up recruitment drive for special education teacher posts by the successive governments.Demanding that all School Assistant-Special posts be filled through direct recruitment, he said that the Supreme Court had directed the notification to be issued by July 15, 2025.The federation’s State president Rammohan and district level leaders S. Nizamuddin, Shiva, Basava, Mahesh, Sandip, Satyanarayana, Nagababu and others participated in the protest.Published - July 31, 2025 10:30 pm IST
