He also threatened to blow up the Easyjet plane traveling to Glasgow and yelled “Death to Trump.”By Batya Jerenberg, World Israel NewsHeroic passengers on an EasyJet flight to Glasgow, Scotland, subdued a man Sunday who was threatening to blow up the plane and repeatedly screaming the Arabic phrase “Allahu Akbar (God is great)” as he stood in the aisle.Video clips of the incident that went viral online showed the man also saying he wanted to “send a message” to U.S. President Donald Trump and shouting, “I’m going to bomb the plane! Death to America! Death to Trump!”Trump was visiting Scotland over the weekend. One passenger described the scene to The Sun.“He literally came out of the toilet shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ with his hands above his head,” said the man, who did not wish to be identified.“Then he said ‘I’ve got a bomb, I’ve got a bomb.’ At this point people were confused. I thought he was joking. I mean, it’s a weird joke.”“He pushed the airline staff and was being aggressive towards them,” the witness then attested. “He was a big guy, about six foot, and they were these petite women.”“At that point, one guy managed to grab him from behind and pull him down, then everyone jumped on top of him. He was fighting a bit on the floor, but at this point, he knew he’d f—ked up,” the passenger said.“Some of the passengers were crying because they were shaken up. It was just a bit surreal,” he added.Several of the men pinning the dark-skinned, tall suspect down tried questioning him.The Sun’s source said that they got his wallet out of his pocket and that he seemed to be an Indian national with a card stating that he had refugee status. Some of the passengers called him an “idiot” for threatening them when he supposedly wanted to hurt the American leader. The pilot made an emergency landing “at a remote part of the runway,” at their original destination, said the witness. While most of the passengers were instructed to stay in their seats for the landing, three men stayed on top of the suspect on the floor of the aisle.About ten minutes after landing, about half a dozen police officers came on board and arrested the man, who had calmed down and admitted to his fellow passengers that he had no bomb.As the man was being escorted out, he was heard asking about his phone and wallet, which were missing, causing some of the passengers whom he had supposedly wanted to kill to laugh at him.A search of the plane confirmed that there were no explosives, but the case was being treated as a possible terrorist incident, the Scottish police said. While they believe that the 41-year-old had acted alone, the onboard footage was being examined by a counterterrorism unit and “enquiries are continuing,” they added. In a bland statement afterward, EasyJet said, “Flight EZY609 from Luton to Glasgow this morning was met by police on arrival in Glasgow, where they boarded the aircraft and removed a passenger due to their behavior onboard.”“EasyJet’s crew are trained to assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time.” The post Man subdued by passengers on flight after yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’ appeared first on World Israel News.
