Magway was among the six areas placed under a state of emergency following the quake, along with Bago, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, and southern Shan state. Despite the scale of the disaster, attacks on health care in these regions have continued. The earthquake killed at least 3,689 people and injured over 5,000 others, while causing widespread destruction to critical infrastructure—including 63 hospitals, as well as major roads, bridges, and communication networks. The ongoing violence and devastation further overwhelmed an already fragile health system and complicated emergency response efforts.Help support the protection of health care by sharing this resource.
