Visited Namibia 6 months ago — how’s the water situation now & how do locals feel about tourism?

Wait 5 sec.

Hey everyone! I had the chance to visit Namibia about six months ago — it was one of the most memorable trips I've ever taken. We did a road trip through Etosha, Sossusvlei, the Namib Desert, and even made it out to Sandwich Bay. The landscapes were unreal, and the people we met were incredibly kind and welcoming. Since then, I’ve been wondering: How is the water situation right now? When we were there, some regions seemed really dry, and locals mentioned concerns about long-term access. Is it getting better or worse? Also, I’d love to hear from anyone living there: How is tourism perceived locally? Is it helping communities, or is it seen as too intrusive in some areas? Lastly, I put together a short video capturing a few moments from the trip — nothing commercial, just a visual diary I wanted to share with others who love Namibia as much as I do. https://youtu.be/o12HaFD1OSo?si=2NV0PoQIdDsjSuvp Thanks in advance for any insight — I’d really love to come back someday and explore more! submitted by /u/CardiologistActual26 [link] [comments]
