Liverpool plan on making a fresh bid for Alexander Isak after Newcastle United rejected their opening offer. The striker has been trying to force a move to Anfield ever since the Reds made an informal approach last month. The possibility of a £120 million deal was floated, but Newcastle turned it down. However, Isak has told the club he wishes to leave and will not engage in talks over a new contract. He is currently training at former club Real Sociedad in Spain and won’t be joining the squad on their pre-season tour of Asia.Liverpool transfer plan revealed after Isak bid rejectedThe Athletic report that Newcastle have “rejected a formal offer” from Liverpool, which Sky Sports News claims is in excess of £100m, but below the Magpies’ valuation of the player. The Merseyside outfit are not deterred, though, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claiming that they “plan to bid again and insist soon”.Newcastle are adamant that Isak is not for sale and value him at £150m, but have been sounding out potential replacements in case he does leave by the end of the window.A £25m bid for Yoane Wissa was rejected by Brentford, although the striker is eager to land a move to St James’ Park. Benjamin Sesko is their top target, but Manchester United are in talks with RB Leipzig and are reportedly leading the race for his signature.Liverpool launch their new kits for the season pic.twitter.com/OeBS6zD4ZJ— The Football Faithful (@FootyFaithful_) August 1, 2025Newcastle boss Eddie Howe this week said that Isak’s future is out of his hands to a degree. “He is still our player, he’s contracted to us,” he told the media.“We, to a degree, control what is next for him.
