I mean the point isn't to live on it, it's more like $400 a month to help with bills if you're already at home with your kids. Not saying it's worth it for that rate, it's a shame though we don't have a reliable, safe, and affordable creche system in this country when I was growing up my brother and I got sent to neighbor's home day care after school. I don't know what she charged per kid, but I know it was much more affordable than a chain daycare business for my parents. One of her kids was kind of dick sometimes, but generally they were pleasant memories and we were safe for the few hours needed after school until we were old enough to be home alone after school.
