A few days ago, tycoon Moses Karangwa campaigned among NRM delegates from Busoga region districts and asked for their vote to become the NRM vice chairman for Buganda. Karangwa chairs NRM in Kayunga district and is campaigning to replace Godfrey Kiwanda. However, the meeting ended in total turmoil when delegates asked tough questions regarding what he intends to do with the position and Karangwa started stammering while accusing them of being saboteurs deployed by his opponents to disrupt his meeting. The delegates accused Karangwa of becoming the owner of parts of Jinja’s Makabu market at Namulesa under controversial circumstances. They accused him of depriving female vendors of their share in that market. Karangwa is a man of few words and didn’t give a satisfactory answer to that question.More trouble erupted when Karangwa refused to explain why he invited only 12 delegates per district yet some of the districts have 70 delegates. This annoyed Karangwa who decided to reduce the facilitation he had prepared from Ugx500k to just Ugx150k per delegate. This made delegates to revolt while some rejected his Ugx150k and walked out of the meeting. He was also asked about articles of the NRM constitution which he said he doesn’t know because he is not a lawyer. He was also asked about why he concentrates on attacking and criticizing his opponents instead of concentrating on how he is going to improve NRM performance in Buganda. He was also asked about why he over emphasizes giving delegates money instead of explaining his agenda what he wants to use the CEC position for to promote the NRM popularity in Buganda which these days is with Kyagulanyi. He was also asked about why he doesn’t have a recognizable campaign team, all of which he refused to answer.
