New details have emerged on the behind-the-scenes maneuvering of Sean “Diddy” Combs in his attempt to get a pardon from Donald Trump. Diddy’s team is reportedly offering cash for any insider who can get it done, while on the other side, his alleged victims from the past few years are also reaching the White House in an attempt to prevent the pardon. The Bad Boy executive was recently convicted for flying in male prostitutes to participate in drug-fueled sexual relations with his girlfriends from the past decade. Diddy is currently trying to get a bond that would ensure his freedom until sentencing, but in the meantime, his allies are reportedly trying to do everything they can to ensure a full pardon from the president. Trump has already publicly expressed that he’s more than willing to do it, but considering all the pressure his base is giving him for his ties to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, his advisors are reportedly telling him to avoid this entire Diddy debacle. According to Rolling Stone, however, Diddy is already trying his best to use his vast wealth to coerce Trump’s advisors to change their minds. Reportedly, Diddy’s demeanor is being described as “desperate” behind the scenes and he has approached lobbyists, political operatives, and other individuals who have the president’s ear with offers believed to be in the mid-six figures. But the one condition is that they will only get the money paid out after Diddy is officially pardoned. The pushback from his alleged victims is, at this point, in the form of a letter detailing all the ways Diddy conducted himself behind the scenes. The alleged victims have accused the embattled rapper of trying to rewrite history and have even requested an invitation to the White House to meet the president. The alleged victims believe that in a face-to-face meeting, they can tell the president the unfiltered truth about what Diddy did to people he saw as powerless during his heyday. It’s worth noting that there are already things that were atrocious which did not ultimately get used by the prosecutor in this recently concluded case — such as Cassie Ventura’s recorded physical assault. The survivors believe that sharing these stories personally with the president might prevent him from issuing a pardon that could, quite honestly, be more harmful to Trump with his base than anything he has done so far in his second term. Ultimately, the decision rests with Trump. And if recent history is anything to go by — Trump might just ignore his critics and pardon Diddy. Currently, as things stand, Diddy’s lawyers are reportedly pushing for a sentence of just a few months longer than 2 years — at 27 months. A Diddy pardon might point to one of the worst precedents for women who have long been encouraged that reporting their abuser is the first and most crucial step in curbing abuse — especially by powerful figures in society. It seems the message being passed here is if you have money, you can do anything you want. Not that much different from what Trump told Billy Bush in that Access Hollywood bus many moons ago.
