A country-made gun and ammunition were seized from a house in Kanjirakolli during a search operation by Payyavoor police on Tuesday evening.The raid, conducted at around 6:30 p.m. based on a tip-off led to the recovery of the firearm from the residence of Babu (55) of Chapillaveeti, Kuttimavu Nagar. Police also found gunpowder stored in the house. At the time of inspection only Babu’s mother and wife were present.Babu who is absconding, is suspected to have used the weapon for hunting wild animals. Police have launched a search to trace him.
