I once nursed a morbidly obese male in critical care. The biggest person I have ever seen in real life. Easily 600 lbs - we use stones and pounds here. Maybe 50 stone? This would be about 25 years ago. He had to have a special bed. Wouldn’t even move his own leg. Non compliant in every way possible. He was awful to both nursing and medical staff. Not just rude, abusive to anyone and everyone. Would lay there and poo himself rather than use a bed pan. His family brought him in McDonalds/fries/biscuits etc. They really were his ‘feeders’. He was on a liquid only diet and family knew this. After weeks of refusing to lift a finger to help himself, he self discharged. Died shortly after.
