In a public message shared on behalf of the family, the Nationalist MP expressed deep gratitude to all those who offered assistance during the frightening ordeal.“I would like to thank the officials and all those who helped my father after his car caught fire yesterday while he was driving in Attard,” the statement reads.A special note of appreciation was directed to the passerby who noticed smoke coming from the vehicle and flagged down the driver, giving him* enough time to pull over and exit before the car was engulfed in flames.The family also extended their heartfelt thanks to the Civil Protection Department, The Malta Police Force, the emergency medical services, and workers from Clean Malta Cleansing and Maintenance Division, all of whom responded promptly to the scene.Investigations into what caused the fire are still ongoing.•
