The eighth death anniversary of the former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh was observed with religious rituals, floral tributes and public service initiatives at his native village of Nelogi in Jewargi taluk on Sunday.Family members, political leaders, seers and admirers of the late leader gathered at his memorial and offered floral tributes.Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) Chairman Ajay Singh, the former legislator Vijay Singh, Kalaburagi South MLA Allamprabhu Patil, political leaders Rudragouda Patil Kallur, Chandrashekar Harnal, seers from various maths and citizens from all walks of life participated in the event and paid their respects.On the occasion, the Dharam Singh Foundation, which has been implementing various socially beneficial schemes in memory of the late leader, launched a new Mukti Vahan (funeral vehicle) service. The facility aims to provide dignified transportation for the deceased free to benefit people across all sections of society.At a parallel event in Kalaburagi, Dr. Ajay Singh, who is Jewargi MLA, along with family members, including the former legislator Vijay Singh and Prabhavati Dharam Singh, offered floral tributes to the late leader. The dignitaries also took part in a symbolic tree planting and watering ceremony.“Dharam Singh was a man of the masses who always thought about the welfare of the common people. His initiatives in health and education earned him a permanent place in public memory.
