India is overhauling its Army structure to boost readiness against combined threats from China and Pakistan. The military is introducing all-arms Rudra brigades, light Bhairav commandos, and drone-equipped infantry units. These changes aim to increase operational speed and border defence without adding new troops. Artillery and air defence are also being upgraded with advanced missile systems. The shift, detailed by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, follows cross-border clashes with Pakistan during Operation Sindoor in May.
