Police said further investigation was underway (Archive)A Pune Rural Police probe found major discrepancies in the rape complaint filed by a woman. Police said the woman alleged three unidentified men allegedly took her forcibly to an unknown location in Lonavala and raped her. However an investigation revealed there was only one man with her, who was known to her.Police have detained the 35-year-old man from Tungarli in Lonavala for investigation. Police said the woman came with a complaint that on Friday, three men took her to an unknown location in Lonavala in a car, and raped her.She also alleged that the three men left her at Lonavala in the early hours of Saturday and escaped from the spot.Based on her complaint, a first information report (FIR) was lodged at the Lonavala city police station, against three unidentified, as per sections 70, 64, 138, 304 (2), 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), on Saturday.Police launched a probe into the case. Cops checked videos captured by CCTV cameras at different locations including the spot where the victim was allegedly left by the rapists.It revealed that only the man had left the woman at the spot.
