Indian airlines reported 183 technical faults till July 23 this year, while overall glitches declined by nearly 6% in 2024 compared to 2023, the government told Rajya Sabha. Following the fatal Air India crash on June 12 that killed 260 people, DGCA intensified safety checks. Over five years, 2,094 investigations were conducted into serious defects and snags.
