The second overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft is set to make her return after an injury-shortened rookie campaign.Cameron Brink tore her ACL just 15 games into her career, a brutal injury that required her to miss the rest of the year and some of 2025.Brink was seen as one of the most talented players to enter the league in a whileGettyIt’s been over a year.However, on Tuesday night, she makes her long-anticipated return for the Los Angeles Sparks at home against A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces.Over the course of her first 15 career games, Brink averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.7 assists. She was just getting started.“It’s no easy thing to come back from … I’m just very excited, very humbled by this experience,” Brink said at Monday afternoon’s practice.Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts will be cognizant of how much she plays Brink, noting she will be on a minute restriction.“It’s great,” Roberts said. “Not to put too much pressure on Cam’s impact right now … [but] just be in the moment and not worry too much about missing a layup … play with gratitude.“July 29th, we’ll have all 11 players healthy. Sometimes the hardest times in life are the biggest lessons … [Brink] will be a better player because of this.”She will hope to be an even better player as she sat out for over a year watching her team and others around her take the court.Brink did have one ace up her sleeve as she rehabbed from her knee injury. There’s no doubt that Curry continuously checked in with her throughout that entire process.
