It was an eventful day in St. Joseph, Missouri, home of the Kansas City Chiefs training camp. For starters, a fight broke out that ended with head coach Andy Reid and star tight end Travis Kelce getting involved to break it up.Reid usually runs a clean and crisp practiceGettyThe fight started when two fellow rookies went at it with one another; offensive lineman Josh Simmons and defensive end Ashton Gillotte.Simmons was blocking Gillotte a tick after the whistle, which the defender didn’t like it. He shoved Simmons, before the massive offensive tackle landed a right hook to Gillotte’s face, albeit still with a helmet on.The two proceeded to lock arms with one another, before teammates and coaches jumped in to break it up, including Reid and Kelce.Simmons is the Chiefs’ first-round pick out of Ohio State and is expected to slide into the starting lineup when he is ready. The reports out of training camp have been overwhelmingly positive so far.Camp fights are as common as the Chiefs reaching the AFC title game. It happens every year and is just part of the game this time of the year. It’s hot, tempers are high, players aren’t in the best mood. It’s the dog days of summer, and you’re repeatedly facing the same opponent over and over again. Scuffles, fights, skirmishes, etc. are all bound to break out.Chiefs star weapon avoids injuryThat wasn’t the only newsworthy headline to come out of a July practice. Wide receiver Hollywood Brown went out with an injury. It was unclear how serious it was at the time, as he needed the cart to help him get off the field, but the reports since have been good.NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported: “Brown, who left practice on a cart with a lower leg injury, avoided anything serious and is expected to be back on the field as early as tomorrow.”Exhale, Chiefs Kingdom.X/@MARKPOULOSETempers were flaring in Kansas City[/caption]All eyes (and hopes) will be on Simmons and whether or not he can protect #15GettyLast year Brown suffered a sternoclavicular injury during the preseason that caused him to miss most of the year. He made his official KC debut in December during Week 16.In the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, he caught two passes for 15 yards. He was set to be a free agent this offseason before signing another one-year deal with Kansas City.It seems Brown has avoided a bullet this time around and will be ready to practice as early as tomorrow, which is a huge sign for Reid and Patrick Mahomes.Losing a key weapon before the preseason even starts is usually a recipe for disaster.Mahomes and the Chiefs will be looking to avenge their embarrassing loss in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles, going out on a pathetic 40-22 note. And believe it or not, the score looks a lot closer than what it actually was. NFL's Greatest......Ranking the top 10......Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and moreTight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare? All eyes will be on KC to see how they rebound. They are heading into a season for the first time in nearly three years that they aren’t the defending champs.Could they be getting slept on? Doubt it, but for the first time in a long time, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.Doubt Mahomes at your own risk. Doubt Reid and Kelce, and Chris Jones. That’s not usually the side you want to be staring at you on the opposite side.
