A Republican lawmaker from Idaho wanted to name the Kennedy Center’s opera house after Melania Trump, while another from Missouri went even further by proposing the “Make Entertainment Great Again Act,” which would rename the whole building the “Donald J. Trump Center for Performing Arts.” According to MSNBC, this second proposal, officially labeled as bill H.R. 4715, is currently looking for support from other lawmakers, even though it probably won’t pass and might go against the law that created the Kennedy Center in the first place. These efforts are part of a bigger pattern where Republicans push for name changes based on their political beliefs. Trump’s lackeys want to take Kennedy’s name off the performing arts center In the past, Trump has tried to rename places like the Gulf of Mexico, holidays like Veterans Day, military bases, and even sports teams. But the current focus on Trump seems to be a new level of extreme, with lawmakers going out of their way to pass flattering laws for a current leader. The ideas to honor Donald Trump go far beyond just the Kennedy Center. There is an idea to create a $250 bill featuring Donald Trump’s face. Additionally, his picture should be placed on $100 bills. Another proposal is to declare Trump’s birthday a federal holiday, meaning it would be a day off for everyone across the country. There is also a suggestion to carve Trump’s face into Mount Rushmore, the famous monument that already features several U.S. presidents.
