Say Nothing is based on a book by Patrick Radden Keefe and takes viewers through a period of Irish history known as The Troubles. The series, described as a “gripping story of murder and memory,” has been racking up critical acclaim ever since it was released in late 2024.Marian Price, now Marian McGlinchey, specifically takes issue with the show portraying her “as having carried out the execution-style murder” of a Belfast mother of 10 in the show.The new lawsuit was filed on July 2 in Dublin High Court and claims Say Nothing’s ninth and final episode erroneously portrays her. Price is seeking damages and an injunction preventing Minim UK Productions Limited and Disney from further publishing the same or similar defamatory statements. Price also calls on Disney to remove the execution scene from the episode.Price threatened to file a lawsuit back in 2024, within the first few weeks of the show’s premiere.In the original book, Patrick Radden Keefe investigates the murder of Jean McConville. Readers follow the efforts of orphaned children to find answers in relation to their mother’s execution. Keefe ultimately writes that Price was the one who killed McConville.Price was convicted for participating in the Provisional IRA bombing of London’s Old Bailey in 1973.
