Lauren Boebert confesses public welfare isn’t her job – funny, coz we weren’t sure she even knew what her job was

Wait 5 sec.

Lauren Boebert has to be one of the loudest yet most ineffective representatives in congress. It seems all she does is parrot Donald Trump’s talking points while avoiding any real work, at this point we’re just wondering if she even knows what her job entails. Recently, the representative for Colorado’s 4th congressional district proudly proclaimed over a Zoom call that she was not responsible for her constituent’s health or safety. She delivers her bizarre rant with a sly smirk, telling the people “My job as your representative, as a congresswoman, is not to make sure that you are healthy and safe in every aspect of your life.” It’s an odd thing to say when you know the people you’re representing will no doubt be listening, but Boebert seemingly doesn’t care all that much. She’s never been one to carefully choose her words, she’s much more likely to just blurt out a word salad without any second thought. Great, so she can list what her job doesn’t include. The real question is whether she knows what her job does require her to do, because she never seems to be doing any actual work. She claims that her job “is to keep you free.” But that just sounds wishy-washy and besides, the constitution should do that, so long as the Trump administration doesn’t mess with it (which is unfortunately a possibility). Besides, what’s the point in being free is you’re not healthy enough to appreciate it? While she may be technically correct in the sense she’s not directly responsible for people’s health or safety, she should still probably care about that stuff considering she’s, you know, representing those people. This is just another example of Boebert seemingly expressing borderline contempt for her constituents. Most politicians at least pretend to care about the people they’re representing, Boebert can’t even do the bare minimum. The internet reacts Unsurprisingly Boebert’s comments didn’t sit well with many. Responding on X, many expressed shock that she was able to cling to her position for as long as she has. One person wrote, “I will never understand how this idiot keeps winning [elections].” Another quipped, “Sounds like a great reelection campaign slogan: I don’t give a damn about you.”  A third individual pointed to her past personal failures as a parent and grandparent writing, “Go parent your son and protect your grandchild.” This is in reference to the recent accusations against her 20-year-old son who received a misdemeanour citation for child abuse.  Perhaps Lauren Boebert should focus more on what she can do to make a difference. Rather claiming it’s not her responsibility she could be pro-active for once and actually do something for her constituents. Unfortunately that seems like too big of an ask for her.
