Newcastle United have opened talks with Southampton over a deal to sign Aaron Ramsdale.Ramsdale has emerged as the club’s leading alternative after missing out on the signing of James Trafford, who is set to rejoin Manchester City from Burnley.The 27-year-old joined Southampton from Arsenal last summer but was unable to prevent the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
